Starbucks switching to paper straws, What's the point?
We have been advocating the "green, environmental protection" concept of social development, in order to the ecological harmony of the earth, we are constantly working hard. Recently, Starbucks China announced that since April 22, Starbucks will take the lead in nearly 1,000 stores in Shanghai and Shenzhen to pilot the use of direct drink LIDS and paper straws, and stop providing plastic straws.
Although the state has always advocated limiting plastic, few have actually taken action. Starbucks will provide specially designed, recyclable straight drink LIDS for iced drinks that do not contain whipped cream, and provide paper straws with more environmentally friendly materials for drinks. This action will be used in nearly 1,000 stores in Shanghai and Shenzhen from April 22, in order to reduce the plastic footprint. Starbucks said the environmental measures will be implemented in all its stores in China by the end of the year.
Do not underestimate the plastic straws, plastic straws are small, but the amount is large, only Starbucks will consume 1 billion a year, at the same time, because of its small and difficult to recycle, unable to degrade, serious pollution of the ecological environment. It has to be said that a straw is the epitome of environmental pollution caused by plastic abuse. Starbucks uses paper straws instead of plastic straws, which fully reflects its sense of social responsibility and makes its own contribution to social environmental protection. Starbucks China's use of paper straws instead of plastic straws is not only out of the consciousness of environmental responsibility, but also in response to the call of the national plastic restriction policy.
